Bryan and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary a couple of days early with a mini-vacation. We went to one of our favorite places, the Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio. We had a wonderful time. The weather was HOT and sunny so we were albe to relax by the pool and work on our tan while catching up on some quality reading - US Weekly! Well, at least I tried to catch up on my gossip mags - I only got into my February editions (I know, I know...it is July! Let's just say that my priorities have shifted greatly and I have a pile of weekly US magazines that seems like it is stacked a foot high, but I refuse to read them out of order. So, now I am in February. Type A, what can I say?). I think Bryan was reading his self-storage and real estate magazines and cooking up new ways to expand business. I know what you are thinking - you aren't supposed to work on vacation, but if you know Bryan, you know that reading those periodicals is fun for him. To each his own!
So now for the burning question...what about Luke? Luke stayed with my parents for two entire nights!!!! Without us!!!! He was absolutely fine, of course. He played non-stop, took long strolls around the neighborhood, helped Grandpa wash the car, went out to dinner, jumped to his heart's content and didn't miss us at all!!! That little boogie! (That is a term of endearment, I promise!) My mom always tells me the truth about Luke - whether he was happy, fussy, etc. and she said he did great. I won't lie - I missed him like crazy! I didn't cry when we left, but I did get big tears in my eyes. I wanted to focus on having a wonderful time with my hubby. The real tears came when Bryan and I came to pick him up. He was happy to see me for about two seconds until he saw his daddy ---- it was over for mommy! He wanted to play with his hero and it was really quite sweet, but I just wanted to hug him and love on him. Luke did take time out to give me kisses but then it was back to Daddy or Grammy. No time for hugs - playing is much more fun!!!
We had a wonderful time and I only called to check on Luke about 6 times. That's not so bad for 48 hours, is it? LOL!
