With the tax extension deadline readily approaching, I needed some solid work days and so Luke went on a mini-vacay of his own to Grammy and Grandpa's house for an entire week! It was so hard to leave him, but it was almost like he knew and he was good with it - I was telling him goodbye and he gave me kisses and two squeeze hugs (these hugs are rare), and then held his arms out for Grammy. It was as if he was kicking me out the door because he was going to be just fine.
I truly felt like I was missing a limb without him, but thanks to modern technology I was able to see him every day using Skype. While he was on his holiday, he perfected his clap, learned how to open and close the microwave door, and learned to brush another person's hair (you know, he sort of beats you in the head with his hairbrush but he thinks he is really doing something) among other things. Literally, it was something new every day. I of course told him not to do anything big while we were apart - something like cutting a tooth or learning to walk. To my pleasure, he listened! Whew!
I had my head in the books all week, but Bryan and I managed to sneak in a trip to the beach, dinner with friends, and a short fishing adventure with his dad. It was a productive week but we were sure glad to have our little man back home at the week's end! Thank you again Mom and Dad for taking such great care of our little love bug!
Hey Grammy, let's cook something out of this book okay?
